Fellows Program

ELM and the ELM Action Fund oversee a longstanding and highly successful paid fellowship program which attracts students across Massachusetts interested in environmental policy and political campaigns. The program connects us with talented changemakers and provides fellows with valuable skills to advance their environmental careers.

Our fellows specialize in a wide range of work, from politics and policy to communications. However, they all work toward the common goals of advancing strong environmental policy and building the power of the environmental community in Massachusetts.

Since the ELM Action Fund was created in 2015, it has housed the Campaign & Advocacy Fellowship program, our most widely attended Fellowship. Working between 15-20 hours per week, Campaign & Advocacy Fellows help elect environmental champions through door knocking, phone banking, district research and community organizing. Fellows are provided opportunities to work directly alongside endorsed candidates, accompany staff members to the State House and attend briefings and events.

After completing the program, many of our Fellows have gone onto begin exciting jobs at influential organizations, such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Clean Energy Ventures, the City of Boston, the League of Conservation Voters, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Senate.
