Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll Endorsed for Re-Election by Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund

May 12, 2026 – The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund has endorsed Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll for re-election, a credit to their commitment to the environment and climate action. Issues of environmental justice, public health, transportation, and energy policy are inextricably linked. Because of this, we need leaders who understand the pressing issues of the Commonwealth and will call for ambitious action.

“Climate action is a top priority of the Governor Maura Healey Administration,” said Casey Bowers, Executive Director of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund. “From signing landmark clean energy legislation into law to investing in climate resilience and lowering energy costs for residents, the administration has demonstrated the bold leadership Massachusetts needs to confront the climate crisis. The ELM Action Fund is proud to endorse them for re-election.”

“Securing a more independent energy future for Massachusetts to lower costs and protect our communities from the impact of climate change has been a key priority of my administration,” said Governor Maura Healey. “The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund have been strong advocates for protecting our environment and our clean energy future. I’m honored to have their support in this race, and I look forward to working together in the future towards a cleaner, brighter Massachusetts.

“We’re grateful to receive the endorsement of the ELM Action Fund, one of our state’s fiercest leaders in the environmental advocacy movement,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. “During a time when the federal administration is hurting our environment and raising energy costs, Maura and I will continue to protect our environment, the communities that we cherish, and the people who call Massachusetts home.”

The Healey-Driscoll Administration is focused on efforts that will lower energy costs, grow Massachusetts’s clean energy economy and green workforce, and uphold the Commonwealth’s nation-leading climate commitments.

Since day one in 2023, Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscioll have concentrated on advancing low-cost clean energy and aligning their entire Administration in support of climate initiatives. In 2024, Governor Healey signed Massachusetts’s clean energy bill into law, which accelerates our path to net-zero emissions by 2050. This law accelerates deployment of clean energy resources, expands the state’s offshore wind investments, and strengthens climate resilience across the Commonwealth. In 2024, Governor Healey also introduced and signed an economic development bill, the Mass Leads Act, which included Massachusetts’ largest-ever investment in climate technologies. This ten-year initiative will build our workforce, drive competitive growth, and catalyze the development of technology to address our climate crisis.

In 2025, Governor Healey introduced the Mass Ready Act, a major environmental bond bill aimed at protecting communities from increasingly severe climate impacts. In March 2026, she signed an executive order directing her Administration to secure 10 new gigawatts (GW) of energy resources for Massachusetts by 2035, as well as 5 GW of new energy storage – an effort that will drive down costs and expedite the state’s clean energy transition.
