Sue Chalifoux-Zephir Endorsed by Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund PAC

BOSTON – The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund PAC has endorsed She Chalifoux-Zephir of Leominster in the election for the Worcester and Middlesex State Senate district, a credit to her commitment to the environment.

“Sue Chalifoux-Zephir is a dedicated member of her community,” stated ELM Action Fund Executive Director Joe O’Brien. “She knows that in cities like Leominster and across the state we need to build a clean energy economy that will power us into the future.”

“Sue Chalifoux-Zephir has the passion and the knowledge to keep Massachusetts in the lead on environmental issues,” said ELM Action Fund President Elizabeth Henry. “She understands the value of open space and land conservation, but also knows that a healthy environment and a healthy economy can go hand in hand.”

Sue began her career in public service fighting to preserve open space and protect clean water in North Central Massachusetts. In the State Senate, she’ll stand up to special interests and support policies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel consumption, encourage renewable energy and energy efficiency, create new jobs in the green energy economy, and protect open space in North Central Massachusetts. Sue will support policies and technologies that help reduce the carbon impact of our transportation sector, which is now the largest greenhouse gas emitter in our economy, to help Massachusetts achieve the goals of the Global Warming Solutions Act to reduce emissions by at least 80% by 2050.

“As the federal government continues to ignore the threat of climate change, it’s critical that state leaders do more to protect our environment,” said Sue. “We have a moral obligation to protect our air, water, and natural resources for future generations, and the growing clean energy industry is a great opportunity for economic growth in North Central Massachusetts.”

Sue Chalifoux-Zephir is a lifelong resident of Leominster, mother of three, and grandmother of two. She is the Executive Director of Ginny’s Helping Hand, a nonprofit food pantry, and serves on the board of the Leominster Education Foundation and is a trustee of the Leominster Public Library. She is currently a City Councilor-at-Large in Leominster. To learn more about Sue, please visit her website at sue4senate.com.
