The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund has endorsed Chris Dempsey in the election for State Auditor, a credit to his commitment to the environment and climate action. With issues of public health, environmental justice, transportation, and energy policy inextricably linked, we need leaders at every level of government who understand the pressing issues of their community and will call for ambitious action.
“Throughout his career, Chris has been a strong climate champion,” said Casey Bowers, Executive Director of the ELM Action Fund. “While he was leading Transportation for Massachusetts, I saw firsthand his commitment to reducing emissions and bringing safe, reliable, and more frequent public transit in an equitable way across the state. I look forward to seeing his innovative approach to carbon accounting put into place when he is the next State Auditor.”
“As State Auditor, I will make the office a national leader on climate and environmental justice by making it the first in the country to incorporate carbon accounting into our audits of state agencies.” said Dempsey. “Massachusetts can and must lead on climate and reducing pollution. I am honored to be endorsed by the state’s most prominent and effective environmental action group.”
Chris Dempsey is the son of public-school teachers running to be the next State Auditor. Chris is endorsed by incumbent State Auditor Suzanne Bump.
