Dominick Pangallo Endorsed for Salem Mayor by Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund
The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund has endorsed Dominick Pangallo in the election for Salem Mayor, a credit to his commitment to the environment and climate action. With issues of public health, environmental justice, transportation, and energy policy inextricably linked, we need leaders at every level of government who understand the pressing issues of their community and will call for ambitious action.
“The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund is proud to endorse Dominick Pangallo to be the next Mayor of Salem,” said ELM President Elizabeth Turnbull Henry. “Pangallo is committed to our clean energy transition and to ensuring that gateway cities like Salem and their workers benefit from the good paying jobs that comes with that transition.”
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund and I’m proud to have helped make Salem a leader when it comes to sustainability efforts,” said Pangallo. “Our work to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis and lessen our own community’s contributions to it has never been more important. From the forthcoming offshore wind terminal to the Sustainability Department I helped create, from Resilient Together – our climate action plan that I helped shape – to direct actions I made possible like our electrical aggregation program and school rooftop solar installations, we must ensure our City remains committed to sustainability a key value in our work. The ELM Action Fund is a strong partner in those efforts and I’m grateful for their support.”
Born and raised in Salem, Dominick Pangallo has over a decade of experience in serving his surrounding community. As former Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll’s Chief of Staff, Pangallo played a critical role in advancing the Salem Offshore Wind Terminal Project, creating the city’s Sustainability Department, and navigating residents through the COVID-19 pandemic. As Mayor, he will keep Salem on a path of progress and prosperity, focusing on resiliency, infrastructure, and environmental justice. Pangallo’s strong history in public service has prepared him to take on Salem’s unique challenges and fight for all of the city’s residents.
