Maria Robinson Endorsed by ELM Action Fund

he Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund has endorsed Maria Robinson of Framingham in the election for the 6th Middlesex State Representative district, a credit to her commitment to the environment.

“Maria Robinson has been a passionate advocate for clean energy and her local community,” stated ELM Action Fund Executive Director Joe O’Brien. “She knows that Framingham and cities and towns across the state can benefit from an advanced economy that will power us into the future.”

“Throughout her career, Maria Robinson has worked hard to move the Commonwealth toward a healthier, more sustainable future,” said ELM Action Fund President Elizabeth Henry. “She is dedicated to ensuring that Massachusetts offers a safe environment for families and children, and opposes rate hikes and the unnecessary expansion of natural gas pipelines that can be costly for consumers.”

Robinson partners with state, regional, and federal agencies to implement clean energy technologies. She has worked directly with the state to help public facilities, such as Logan Airport, manage their energy consumption more efficiently. As a candidate for State Representative, she is a champion for expanding the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy storage technologies to meet the state’s electricity demand while fighting climate change.

Robinson attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. She earned a master’s degree in energy law from the University of Tulsa and served as an intern at the Environmental Protection Agency. In her work at Navigant Consulting, Robinson supported solar energy development and helped Massachusetts develop an energy management system for the state’s public facilities. As Director of the Wholesale Markets Program at Advanced Energy Economy, Robinson aims to reduce barriers to advancing clean energy throughout the region.

A dedicated member of her community, Robinson has years of experience in public service. She serves on the board of the Framingham Public Library Foundation, is a member of the Framingham Democratic Town Committee, and was previously a Town Meeting member.
