Maura Healey Endorsed for Governor by ELM Action Fund

The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) Action Fund is proud to announce the endorsement of Maura Healey for Governor of the Commonwealth. Healey has worked for decades to address the intersectional issues of climate change, public health, civil rights, environmental justice, transportation, and energy policy. She has used her authority as Attorney General to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the Commonwealth and will expand the breadth and depth of this work as Governor.

Healey’s climate and environmental platform will put the Commonwealth on a path to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change and invest in a green and just economy. Her administration will invest in our critical infrastructure, improve air quality and human health, electrify the transportation and buildings sectors and power them with local renewable energy, catalyze our innovation economy, and reckon with centuries of environmental injustice.

“Healey’s climate plan is detailed, strategic, and ambitious,” said Casey Bowers, Executive Director of the ELM Action Fund, “reflecting how she is prioritizing climate action in her vision for the future. The Healey Administration will utilize a whole-of-government approach to ensure we reach at-least a 50 percent reduction in emissions by 2030 and net-zero by 2050. Healey is the best candidate to ensure Massachusetts leads the nation, building a healthier, greener, more just Commonwealth.”

“The ELM Action Fund has been a leader in protecting our environment with the urgency, ambition and commitment to equity that this crisis demands,” said Maura Healey. “I’m honored to receive their endorsement, and I look forward to partnering with them to make Massachusetts a national and world leader in combating the climate crisis and driving our clean energy economy.”
